12-Week Program
1 Class Per Week
Small Group Training
Limited to 20 women per class
This program is designed for women who want to feel safer, stronger and more confident in everyday situations.
You do not need any martial arts or fitness experience to join.
Women of all ages and experience levels are welcome.
• improve personal safety awareness
• learn practical self-defence skills
• build confidence under pressure
• increase strength and fitness
• develop greater resilience and empowerment
Participants learn simple, practical techniques designed for real-world situations, including:

• escapes from wrist grabs and restraint attempts
• defence against bear hugs and body holds
• defence against hair grabs and choking attacks
• ground escape and protection strategies

A key focus of the program is learning how to defend against larger or stronger attackers using leverage, technique and awareness.
Physical techniques are only part of personal safety.
You will also learn how to:
• recognise warning signs and potential threats
• increase awareness of your surroundings
• avoid dangerous situations where possible

Over the years I have spoken with many women who have shared stories about feeling unsafe, being followed, experiencing harassment, or simply wanting greater confidence in their ability to protect themselves.
Those conversations reinforced something I strongly believe:
This program is not about creating fighters.
It is about giving women practical skills, awareness and confidence that can help them avoid danger and respond effectively if necessary.

Bullying affects thousands of children every year.
For many young people, the effects can last far beyond the schoolyard — damaging confidence, self-esteem and emotional wellbeing for years.
At Shirudo Martial Arts, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, confident and respected.
Our SHIELD Anti-Bullying Program helps children develop the confidence, resilience and practical skills needed to handle bullying situations safely and effectively.
This program is not about encouraging violence.
It is about empowering young people with the awareness, confidence and self-control needed to stand strong and protect themselves when necessary.
Many anti-bullying programs focus only on discussion.
Our SHIELD program combines mindset training, education and practical self-defence skills to help children develop real confidence and personal strength.
Students learn:
• how bullying situations develop
• how to recognise early warning signs
• how to respond confidently and assertively
• how to build emotional resilience
• how to stay calm under pressure
• how to protect themselves safely if needed
The goal is simple:
Confident children are far less likely to become targets of bullying.
The SHIELD Anti-Bullying Program is designed for children who:
Our structured program guides students through seven key stages of personal development.
Students learn to talk openly about bullying experiences in a supportive environment.
Simple questionnaires help identify fears, triggers and confidence levels.
Students learn the psychology behind bullying and why it happens.
We build confidence, self-belief and personal responsibility.
Students develop verbal confidence and strong body language.
Fitness and movement improve confidence, posture and energy.
Students learn simple non-violent techniques to protect themselves if necessary.
These are life skills that stay with them long after the program ends.
8 Week Program

No child should feel powerless.
